1. The Bible is not one book but 66, written over many centuries and in three languages – Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek

2. Writers include kings, priests, prophets, shepherds, fishermen, a doctor, a tax collector, a tentmaker

3. It's in two parts: the Old Testament (from creation to around 400 BC) and the New Testament (about the coming of Jesus and the start of the Christian church)
